Experience
I'm Christian. I am a senior at Harvard University studying Linguistics and Computer Science. I am offering my tutoring services to middle school, high school and college students. I specialize in middle school and high school mathematics and sciences, but I am available to offer services in a variety of subject areas. Over the past 4 years, I have tutored almost every semester both independently and through Harvard's Bureau of Study Counsel in subjects like Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry and Psychology, and I have worked with material at the middle school, high school and college level. Additionally, I am particularly qualified for tutoring in high school Math and Science Test Prep. I have received an 800/ 800 on the SAT Math, a 100% on all three Math Regents (Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II) and a 5/5 on the BC Calculus AP Exam. However, I am flexible and well-equipped to work with my students on any subject areas they are struggling with. Throughout my academic experience at Harvard, one thing I've grown to appreciate most is the importance of peer tutoring and guidance. I have learned firsthand, as both tutor and student, that peer tutoring is an extremely rewarding and important part of academic growth. Given my experience on both ends of the tutoring process, I know how to tailor my tutoring style to best fit the specific needs of my students. I think the most important thing about tutoring is keeping my students engaged at all times, and that is why I like to let my students take the wheel. I usually have them bring in assignments, practice tests, etc. that they have trouble with and let them walk me through their process, providing my own insight along the way. I have found a lot of success in my approach as it keeps my students engaged, and it helps me get to know them and their strengths and weaknesses a lot better, which in time can make our sessions much more effective. I always put my students first, so I make it a priority to make myself as available as possible. I am always easy to reach, so please reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
